My cousin, Bill. The last time I saw him was at the wake of my mom, Alice Layton Tipton. He told me in great detail about the engine in the car that Mom and Dad had when they first got married. He also spoke with great compassion for his fellow railroaders and the difficulty that industry has experienced. I remember him as being a loyal nephew to Mom and to our aunt Sis, Ann Layton. My love and prayers go out to all of our family members touched by his loss.
So sorry for your lose Loretta, I just saw the obit. my son Matt works with your son Bill and I will let him know also..I know where you are at now, cause you know I have been there also.. I am thinking of you and hope all is well with you at this time..I would of been to pay my respects if I had known sooner.. again, sorry to here, and if there is anything I can do just let me know.. thinking of you today and in the days ahead just take one day at a time that is all you can do. I knew Bill for 11 years in Atlanta at the railroad. I hated to hear this, he was looking so forward to a long retirement. My prayers are with his family.
Bill was a good friend to Kenny and I. We looked forward to his visits when he came to help Kenny with something or just to talk with us. We will miss Bill. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
I was so sorry to hear about Bill and know he will be missed. We were neighbors and friends when we were in high school and our parents were good friends. I loved Babe (Verna) and hung out with Bill, Bobby and my brother Jerry. Unfortunately I haven't been in touch but back then Bill was a funny, kind, mischievous guy. He and Jerry could think of all kinds of things to do and pranks to play. I especially remember that even at age 18 he could practically identify a car by the sound of it's engine. Loretta, Bill, Anson and Chris, you are in my prayers. Bob, Paul, Mike and Barb, I think of you with great fondness and share your loss with you.
