William Earl Mitchell's Obituary
William Earl Mitchell, 76, of Decatur, IL passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 at Generations of McKinley Court.
Bill was born November 28, 1942, in McLeansboro, IL, the son of, Floyd and Ruby (Gowdy) Mitchell. He married Madeline Davis in Decatur, IL on March 28, 1980.
Bill lived most of his life in Illiopolis, IL, spending most of it working at DeKalb Seed/Poultry. He also worked at Illiopolis School and USA Clean Decatur. He enjoyed working for local farmers and liked to camp and spend winters in Texas. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a member of First Congregational Church in Decatur.
Bill leaves behind to help cherish his memory, his wife, Madeline; children Brian Mitchell (Denise) of Moweaqua, IL, Mark Mitchell (Angie) of Forsyth, IL; step children, Troy Cary of Cisco, IL, Todd Cary (Michelle) of Harrisburg, NC; grandchildren, Cheyla, Jackson, Shelby, Chase Mitchell; Kyla, Mason, Cole, Zachary, Breanna Cary; brother; Vernon Mitchell; and sister, Geraldine Dodson.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jim, Gale, Don, and LaVern Mitchell, sisters: Marvella Carey, and Betty Leebolt.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM Friday, September 6, 2019 at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Inurnment will be at Graceland Cemetery.
