William Phillip Spent's Obituary
Decatur-William Phillip 'Skip' Spent Sr., 51, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in his home.
William was born July 27, 1961 in Decatur, the son of William C. (Donna) Spent Jr. and Roberta F. Forbes. He was previously employed with ADM, Wilbert Vault Company, Van Horn Hybrid, and Clarkson Grain. He enjoyed horse shows especially showing his POA Pony, fishing, hunting, trapshooting, water skiing, and country music. He was very particular about his cars and had a great sense of humor. He married Mary Coleman in 1979. They later divorced.
He leaves behind his son William Phillip Spent, Jr., parents, brothers, David W. Spent and Bradley K. (Candi) Spent, sister Michelle (Joe) Highcock, Uncles John Riedel and Michael E. Spent, Aunt Mary Engle, and cousins Steven M. Spent, Julie L. Spent, and Joseph W. Spent.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Services to celebrate William's life will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Keller Cemetery in Lovington. Memorials may be directed to Garver Brick Church or the National Diabetes Association.
