Sumner, William Earl's Obituary
William Earl Sumner, 76, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 9:25 A.M. on Sunday (09-22-2024) at his home.
William was born on November 23, 1947, in Pittsfield, IL, the son of Earl Milton Sumner and Marjorie Dale (Clause) Sumner. He married Jacqueline Barnes on November 12, 1966, in Decatur, IL. They were married for almost 58 years.
He served his country in the United States Army. William worked at A.D.M. as a machine operator for 35 years.
William loved to go hunting, fishing, and was a gun collector. He liked to go on picnics with his wife Jacqueline and go bowling and square dancing. Most of all William loved to spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Jacqueline of Decatur, IL; two daughters: Tina Grace and husband Jim of Decatur, IL; and Kimberly Lee and husband Mark of Decatur, IL; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one sister Judith Dunn and husband James of Farley, MI.
William was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, one brother Edward Joseph Sumner and his beloved dog Pootie.
A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday (10-02-2024) at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
