William Tipps' Obituary
William E “Jack” Tipps, 57, of Riverton, IL passed away on November 14,2024 peacefully at home with family by his side.
Jack was born on May 5, 1967, in Springfield, IL. He was the son of Charles E Tipps and Dolores Squires-Nichols.
Jack lived a full life alongside his wife of 24 years, Kari, whom he loved and adored. He took on raising 3 stepchildren and treated them as his own in order to give them the life they deserved, needed and wanted.
Jack studied hard to get his GED and then went on to receive his associate’s degree in business management from Kaplan University. He was a forklift operator at International Paper in Lincoln, IL, where he was loved by all, and he loved going to work.
Jack was a strong provider with an unmatched work ethic. He was always early to work and late to leave. He would pick up overtime or extra hours whenever he could at any job, he worked at to provide for his family.
Jack was a very genuine, selfless person with an infectious personality. His one love was his family. He was a dear and respected friend and family member you could always depend on. He has an empathetic soul that has helped many people throughout his life.
Jack loved spending time with his brothers and brother-in-laws, his “bro amigos”. He loved being around his grandkids. He loved fishing, camping, playing card games and playing yard games with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law and sister, Glenn “Dickey” & Jackie Blissett and brother Gregg Bodine.
Jack is survived by his wife and 3 stepchildren Amanda, Quentin and Cassandra Browning. Sister; Linda (Gary) Shudrowitz, brother; John (companion Sally) Hagaman, sisters; Denise (Roger) Burton, Tammy (Brian) Anderson-Kohlkurst and Dawn Tipps. Brother; Glenn (Dinese) Tipps. Brothers; Steve (Cindy) Bodine and Mark (Sharon) Bodine. 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life scheduled at a later date.
