William H. Webster's Obituary
William H. Webster Bill, 82, of Decatur died Friday January 1, 2010 in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Bill was born on February 14, 1927 in Bible Grove, IL the son of Richard F. Webster and Lora L. Turner one of ten children.
Bill graduated from Effingham High School where he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a senior. He was a 3rd class Motor Machinist Mate in WWII 1946 and as a 2nd class Engine Mate in Korea in 1951.
Bill worked at Caterpillar as a design engineer until he retired in 1983. He was a member of the American Legion Post 105, VFW Post 99 the, NRA, SAE Engineering Association and the Double Nickel Club. He married Barbara A. Gibbons on May 27, 1949 and they had seven children.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, brother, James Webster of Virginia; sisters, Virginia York of Arizona; son, Richard W. Webster Karin of Decatur; son, Glen E. Webster Debbie of Findlay; daughter, Teresa M. Webster of Tacoma, WA; daughter, Cecelia A. Handt Bill of Decatur; son, Shawn T. Webster Denise of Clinton; daughter, Lisa C. Holacka John of Wylie, TX; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and sisters, one daughter, Marie Webster, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am Monday January 4, 2010 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Isidore Cemetery. Memorial may be made to donor’s choice.
