William L Wooley's Obituary
Decatur- William “Larry” Wooley, 71, of Decatur passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with his family at his bedside after a six month battle with a serious illness.
A service to celebrate the life of Larry will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2011 at South Shores Christian Church, Decatur, Illinois, visitation for Larry will be from 4-7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors and “Flight Home” Ceremony will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Larry was born July 1, 1940 in Decatur, Illinois the son of Basil and Pearl Dial Wooley. He proudly served his country in the U.S Air Force and retired from Firestone after 32 years. He owned his own lawn service called Larry’s Mowing and drove a truck after his retirement. He and his wife Sondra own the Bement Country Opry in Bement, Illinois. Larry married Sondra Johns on March 13, 1976.
Larry is survived by his wife; sister’s, Velma Huss, Helen Louise Holeman of Decatur, and Mary Dunn of Forsyth, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Delmar Wooley and John Wesley Wooley.
