Willie Mae Currie's Obituary
Willie Mae Currie, 82, of Urbana, passed away December 31, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.
Willie (“Polly”) was born in Brownsville, Tennessee, on July 22, 1939, the daughter of Lawrence Ingram and Henry Vinilla Duckworth. She worked as a CNA. Her most important work, though, was being a loving mother to her family. She was a member of CWFF Temple #49 in Decatur.
Willie is survived by her children Albert Lee Currie, Larry (Donna) Currie, Elaine Currie, Bernice Perry, and Carla Currie-King; and grandchildren Kimyotta James Hodges, Willie A. Currie, Starlite (Fred) Page, Richard T. Lyndsey Currie, Nina R. White, Albert Lee Cox Currie Jr., and Dwayne Cox Currie; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; one great-great granddaughter; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son De Jittie Currie; siblings Geraldine Jewell Perry, Jimmy Mills, L.V. Morton, Joseph Lewis Morton; granddaughter Oletha Cox; grandson Randy Johnson; great-grandson Joseph Lewis Currie; daughter-in-law Gwendolyn Cox Currie; and son-in-law Aaron King.
