Willie "Bill" Shaw's Obituary
Willie “Bill” Shaw, 88, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025, in Mt. Zion. He was born on May 16, 1936, in Tuscola, IL.
He was a son of the late Raymond B. Shaw and Alice Fasnacht Shaw. Bill retired from working in Plant Protection at Firestone, then went on to work in Safety at Bodine Sewer. He was a man who valued his community and its wellbeing, with forty years under his belt as a Mt. Zion volunteer firefighter as well as serving on their board of trustees. He was also a trustee at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Mt. Zion Cemetery, and had formerly served on the Mt. Zion School Board.
He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa; the world’s biggest fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and WWE wrestling. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by: daughter, Linda K. Shaw; brother, Warren Shaw; and sister, Georgeina Utterback.
Those surviving include: wife of 67 years, Donna Bagy Shaw; children, Bonnie (Harry) Milton, Brian (Kay) Shaw, and Brenda Shaw; sister, Barbara Hodge; grandson, Ryan (Elizabeth) Milton; great-grandchildren, Addison Milton and Liam Milton; sister-in-law, Nancy Shaw; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation for Bill Shaw will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM, with burial to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church.
