Willie Lue Spivey's Obituary
On Friday, June 29, 2007, at 7:15 pm our beloved Willie Lue Spivey, went home to be with the Lord.
Willie was born to the union of Willie and Lula Lanier Tyus, on November 2, 1918 in Haywood County, TN. She accepted Christ at an earl age at St. Peters CME Church in Brownsville, TN. Later she joined Prayer And Deliverance Church, where she served as a faithful member until moving to Decatur, IL. Willie Lue married Titus Jones, and to this union three children were born: James, Rossie and Sadie. Later she married Idell Doc Spivey
She leaves to cherish fond memories one son, Rossie Lucile Jones of Decatur; grandchildren: Beverly Perry of South Bend, IN, Benard Carmella Jones, Tracy Candace Jones, Jerry Jones, and Bruce Yarbary all of Aurora, CO, Michele Foster, Danny Jones, Andrew Jones and Tommy Henz all of Decatur, Sandra Jones of Florida and Keith Tamesha Muex of Brownsville, TN; 19 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter; sisters: Lula Ollie Owens of Brownsville, TN, Rosie Joyner, Wilma Tyus, and Beatrice Sells all of Decatur; brother, Earl Brenda Tyus of Decatur; sisters-in-law: Esther Mae Tyus and Mattie Tyus both of Decatur; God children who lovingly called her "Big Mama": Johnnie Ruth Jones of Decatur, Arzina Morgan, Melvin Jean Jones, Carolyn Don Smith, Leon Jones and Luther Jones all of Brownsville, TN, Ronnie Jones of Dallas, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Sadie and son, James; sisters: Georgia Tyus and Winnie Jacocks; brothers: Elbert, Walter, David, and Charlie Tyus and Alexander Hawkins; son-in-law, Green Perry; God daughter, Vernita Walker.
Visitation will begin at 10 am Saturday, July 7, 2007, in First Church Of God In Christ where funeral services will be 11 am with Rev. Melvin Tyus officiating; burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
The Jones and Tyus families sincerely appreciate all the kind deeds, sympathy, words of encouragement and most of all your prayers that you have extended to us at this time. We would also like to thank the Decatur Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Atluri and DMH Hospice for the care and kindness given to our loved one.
