Wilma May Smith's Obituary
Decatur ' Wilma May Smith, 86, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Wilma was born June 21, 1926 in Moultrie County, a daughter of Clinton and Lena (Bolsen) Hale. A member of Ss. James & Patrick Catholic Church, Wilma worked in food service for Decatur School District 61. She married Thomas E. Smith November 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1987. Also preceding her in death were her parents, son Michael, two brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are her children: Rich (Sue) Smith of Decatur, David (Cindy) Smith of Normal, Roger (Carol) Smith of Earlville, and Nancy Mizell of Decatur; fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Womer of Monticello and Evelyn Hale of Decatur; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 11 am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life at 1 pm at St. James Catholic Church, Rev. John Burnette celebrant. Burial will be in St. Isidore Cemetery, Dalton City. Memorials may be made to Ss. James and Patrick Catholic Church.
Wilma was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed.
