Wilma M. Wayne's Obituary
Wilma M. Wayne, 86, of Decatur, died on Monday November 10, 2003 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be 10 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2003 in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Dennis Kollross celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, vigil prayer service at 4:45 p.m. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Wilma was born on January 23, 1917 in Hillsboro the daughter of Oliver and Bertha Suits Howard. She was a graduate of St. John's School of Nursing and worked for nearly 20 years as a Registered Nurse before retiring from St. Mary's Hospital in 1978. Wilma was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, and besides being a terrific mother, she was a wonderful seamstress who loved to travel, play the piano, paint, and as a child she loved to ride horseback. Wilma married John G. "Jack" Wayne on June 21, 1943 in Sarasota, FL. and he preceded her in death on September 12, 2002.
Surviving are her daughters: Cecelia M. Ron Swolley of Morton; Cynthia A. Jerry Gray of Mansfield, TX; Christine L. Drew Watson of Decatur; sons: Michael W. Linda Wayne of Decatur; J. Patrick Wayne of Normal. Nineteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
