Winona Lea Houser's Obituary
Winona Lea Houser, 88, of Decatur, IL passed away on December 5, 2023, at her residence.
Winona was born August 3, 1935, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Arthur Kenneth and Elaine (Tish) Griffith. She married John Phillip Houser, January 24, 1955, in Decatur, IL.
Winona was a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She had served as a banker for many years with Soy Capitol Bank, and Magnum Bank. She was an avid league bowler and enjoyed collecting birdhouses. One of her greatest loves was spending time with her family. She will always be remembered as a great mother, and ‘granny”.
Surviving are her children, Zonna Houser of Decatur, IL, Mark Houser of Oakley, IL, Kelly Von Nordeck (John Goodbrake) of Decatur, IL, Todd Houser (Michele) of Decatur, IL; grandchildren, Holly Kenney (Bryan), Tiffany Houser, Brock Von Nordeck, Riley Houser; great grandchildren, Kennedy, Kinzie, Howey, Hadley, and Rookey.
Winona was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brother, Blaine Griffith; and great-grandson, Gage.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Monday, December 11, 2023, at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home. The burial will be at Point Pleasant Cemetery.
Memorials: Arthritis Foundation or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
