I remember the night we met Edwin at the Shaw's home in 1984. The striking gentleman with the silvering hair stood and smiled at Maria with such happiness and pride in her. What a beautiful photo of him! Uncle Edwin was precious to me. Although he and I had not seen each other since the Jacobs Family Reunion in Nebraska, we kept up with each other in recent years through many wonderful phone calls. I loved our talks. He and I often shared with each other about our faith in the Lord. He always expressed sincere interest in my life, and gave such kind encouragement. I think he truly had a "shepherd's heart."
