Yvonne Austin's Obituary
Yvonne Austin, 74, peacefully departed this earth and entered Heaven's gates at 6:46 pm on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur, Illinois.
Yvonne was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born in Crocus, Kentucky on May 16, 1938 to the parents of Charlie Jackman and Elizabeth Hunter. She attended school in Somerset, Kentucky. Yvonne was a Certified Nurse Aide and worked as a caregiver for more than 25 years; she worked at Aspen Ridge for several years until she was injured.
Yvonne married the love of her life, Dotsie (Dick) Austin on December 30, 1957. Six children were born from that union. She is survived by one sister, Brenda Baker; brother, Olen Olin; daughters: Vanessa Austin-Jones and Carla Austin-Redd; and two sons: Freddie (Sherrie) Austin and William (Melissa) Austin; eleven grandchildren: Katrina Campbell, Frederick Jones Jr., Ebony Allston, Ivory Campbell Jr., Shamar Austin, Ashley Austin, Aaron Jones, William Austin Jr., Jeremy Jones, and Ladell Austin; two step-grandchildren: Devante Williams and Tyrik Jones; eighteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, and special friends who will miss her dearly.
She received Christ at an early age and attended CWFF Church in Decatur, IL where she served faithfully on the usher board until her health no longer. She had a natural green thumb and whatever she touched would grow.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Jackman and Elizabeth Waite, husband, Dotsie (Dick) Austin, daughter, Carolyn Sue, son, Marvin Wayne, grandson, Antonio Austin, brothers: Arnold Hunter, Elliott, David, and J.B. Jackman and sisters: Irene McGraw and Alie Waite.
Homegoing Service to celebrate Yvonne's life will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 9, 2013 in Love Fellowship with Pastor Overseer James Wills officiating. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Saturday in the Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
