Decatur - Zackary Michael West, 25, of Decatur, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026. Zackary Micheal West was born to Teresa Perry and Micheal Andrew West on January 4, 2001.
Zackary graduated From Eisenhower High School in 2020, marking an important milestone in his life and reflecting his determination and commitment to his future.
Zackary was a hardworking and dedicated man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need. Known for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and generous spirit, he left a lasting impression on everyone who had a privilege of knowing him. From a young age, Zackary developed an interest in collecting firearms, a hobby he enjoyed throughout his life. He appreciated the craftsmanship, history, and knowledge associated with his collection and took great pride in pursing his interests. Above all else, Zackary was a devoted and loving father to his beloved son. His greatest joy came from spending time with him, creating cherished memories, and providing guidance, love, and support. The bond they shared was immeasurable, and his love for his son was evident in everything he dd. Though his time on earth was far too short, Zackary’s legacy of love, hard work, generosity, and devotion to family will continue to live on in our hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and lovingly remembered.
Zackary leaves behind his mother Teresa Perry and his son Syaire West to carry on his legacy. Zackary is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Jermiah Robinson, Precious Lovelace, Anthony Reid, Aquilla Currie, Courtney Currie, Tia (Dedric) Hill, Daisy “cookie” Jones, Micheal Currie, and Veronica (Lavon) Crenshaw. Zackary will be missed by is Significant other, Exandria Hoover.
Zackary was preceded in death by his father Micheal West, grandmother Julie Morris, grandfather Therman Perry, grandmother Claudia Graves, and his uncle Paul Graves.
A Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 12:00pm at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11:00-12:00pm.
