Zelna M. Lowe's Obituary
Zelna Lucas Lowe 93 of Decatur died at 12:15 pm March 15, 2004 in her home.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am Saturday March 20, 2004 in First Presbyterian Church. Private family graveside services will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Moran & Goebel funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made First Presbyterian Church or Millikin University School of Music. Zelna was born on August 21, 1910 in Waterloo, IA the daughter of Miles Wesley and Mollie Sievers Lucas. She married Morris W. Lowe on December 9, 1939 in Decatur.
Mrs. Lowe was a musician and teacher. She taught piano privately in her home and in the Preparatory Department at Millikin University School of Music. She was a graduate of Millikin University class of 1936. She was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota. Zelna also was an accompanist and was organist at First Presbyterian Church for 55 years.
Surviving are her sons, Michael W. Lowe of Decatur; Lynn C. Lowe and wife Kathleen Ziak Lowe of Warren, RI and Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and Mark S. Lowe of West Hollywood, CA; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrew, and Matthew, and a great-grandchild Molly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Francis W. Lucas, and a sister, Helen Lucas Horton.
