Barbara Godsey
Bea was my mother-in-law from 1983 to 2003 butI still visted with her off and on, my mother-in-law she will always be. Bea loved shopping/driving and sewing until her eye sight failed and she could no longer do either. She loved gardening, cooking, baking and had enough food in her pantry to feed a third world country. She had an assortment of cookies in at least two if not three cookie jars. But, she was most famous of all for her zucchini relish that she shared with family and friends. She loved flowers and flower gardens and was the only person I knew that had Moon flowers that only bloomed late in the evening and into the night, but closed up during the day.She said she wanted to enjoy flowers while living and not when she was dead.We traveled to Texas with her and took a boat ride down the River Walk in San Antonio, Texas and ate Mexican food at a litte cafe along the River Walk while visiting her daughter BarbaraMy very last road trip with her was to Connie's Greenhouse just past Latham. After filling the back end of the car with flowers, we stopped at the Corn Crib for lunch. We were both disapointed that they didn't have any pie for dessert but a good time was had by all. Bea said she ejoyed getting out and getting "the stink blowed off of her". She always kept us laughingMay her memories live in your minds and your hearts forever. I can just hear Richard saying from above, "Well done my children!"Dick made a promise to his dad on his death bed to take care of Bea.Mary and Dick kept that promise. Decatur, IL US
