Bill G. Letner's Obituary
Decatur-Bill G. Letner, 77, of Decatur, passed away at 1:35 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2011 in Gowin Parc of Mattoon with his family by his side.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Bill’s life will be 11a.m. Monday, December 12, 2011 at St. James Catholic Church, 742 E. Clay St., with Father John Burnette, celebrant. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the mass at the church. Interment with “Flight Home” Ceremony will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ss James and Patrick Parish Building Fund, Good Samaritan Inn, or the Humane Society of Decatur and Macon County.
Bill was born August 2, 1934 in Douglas County, IL, the son of Ernest M. and Amy G. Clark Letner. He graduated from Brownstown High School class of 1952. He was employed as an electrician with the A.E. Staley Manufacturing Company and Tate & Lyle from 1953-1993. He married Jeanne A. Schmidt July 21, 1956 at St. James Catholic Church in Decatur.
Bill was a member of the Ss James and Patrick Parish. His special interests include spending time with his family, working on his home and yard, and traveling.
He leaves behind Jeanne, his beloved wife of over fifty-five years, children; Rev. Paula J. Sanders of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Alan J. Letner of Smyrna, Tennessee, and Laura L. Letner of Decatur, sister; Jo Ann Rardin of Bourbonnais, grandchildren; Jason Sanders and wife Missy, Jordan Sanders, and Rachel Boughton, great-granddaughters; Alexis, Journey, Javon, Juliana, Helena, and Angel all of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, and his Yorkshire Terror Jazzy.
He was reunited in Heaven with his parents, relatives, and friends.
