I am very sorry to hear of the loss of Bonita. She will be missed by many. Decatur, IL US
With the passage of time we learn that this great day will come, when having completed our mission on earth, we will be blessed with the wonders and peace of heaven. Bonita earned her place by being the very best on this earth. Love and prayers for you all. Decatur, IL US
On behalf of American Red Cross blood services, I extend my heartfelt sympathies to the Sperry family and friends of Bonita. Though I was never fortunate enough to meet Bonita myself, I have heard people speak very kindly of her. She spent much of her life in the service of others, and she will no doubt be remembered fondly by those who knew her – and her charity will no doubt be appreciated by strangers for years to come. Please know that we are thinking of you now and grieving the loss of a dear friend to the organization. Bonita's service will be remembered and her humanitarian spirit truly missed. Peoria, IL US
Bonita and I go "way" back in our work with the Red Cross. Bonita was with the old Macon County Chapter and I am the retired Exec. Director of the Quad Cities. I am from Decatur and maintained contact with Bonita with mutual friends and an interest in Red Cross Collectibles. Always enjoyed our visits. Rock Island, IL US
Frances; Please accept my sympathy for you and your family during this time of sorrow.I wish there was something I could say that would lessen your pain. I know mere words won't make the pain any less. But, I will offer this little prayer in the hope that it will give you a measure of comfort."May God grant you his gracious mercy and protection. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He lift up his face upon you and be gracious unto you. May he lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. — Amen" Decatur, IL US
ABOUT 30 YEARS AGO I WAS LISTENING TO THE FUNERAL SERVICE OF MAYORRICHARD DALEY OF CHICAGO. IN THESERVICE THEY READ THE PRAYER OF ST.FRANCIS OF ASSISI.I THOUGHT THE PRAYER WAS BEAUTIFUL.I TOLD BONITAABOUT THE PRAYER AND SHE GAVE ME A COPY OF IT AND I STILL HAVE IT TODAY. ST.FRANCIS OF ASSISI WROTE THIS PRAYER ABOUT 1800 YEARS AGO BUTAS YOU READ IT, IT SEEMS LIKE HE WROTE IT JUST FOR BONITA.LORD,MAKE ME AN INSTRUMENT OF YOUR PEACE;WHERE THERE IS HATRED,LET ME SOW LOVE;WHERE THERE IS INJURY,PARDON;WHERE THERE IS DOUBT,FAITH;WHERE THERE IS DESPAIR,HOPE;WHERE THERE IS DARKNESS,LIGHT;AND WHERE THERE IS SADNESS,JOY.O DIVINE MASTERGRANT THAT I MAY NOT SO MUCH SEEKTO BE CONSOLED AS TO CONSOLE;TO BE UNDERSTOOD,AS TO UNDERSTAND;TO BE LOVED,AS TO LOVE;FOR IT IS IN GIVING THAT WE RECEIVE,IT IS IN PARDONING THAT WE ARE PARDONED,AND IT IS IN DYING THAT WE ARE BORN TO ETERNAL LIFE.WE LOVE YOU BONITA,MAX & EVELYN FORSYTH, IL US
