Bonita P. Sperry's Obituary
Bonita P. Sperry, 74, of Decatur, died on Tues. Sept. 14, 2004 in Imboden Creek Living Center.
Mass of the Resurrection celebrating her good life will be 10 a.m. Sat. Sept. 18, 2004 in St. James Catholic Church, Fr. Jeff Grant celebrant. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Fri. in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home where a vigil prayer service will be held at 5:45 p.m. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Bonita was born on Sept. 19, 1929 in Decatur, the daughter of Charles L. and Minnie A. Brinkoetter Nolte. She worked for 40 years at the American Red Cross as the director of blood services before retiring in 1991. Bonita was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the St. Elizabeth Sodality. She was also a member Kiwanianne and Zonta. Bonita married Lawrence W. Sperry on Jan. 17, 1953 in Decatur and he preceded her in death in 1975.
Surviving are her children: Lawrence D. Sperry of Decatur; Frances Sperry of Decatur; Kathy husband, Steve Fasick of Decatur; Phyllis husband, Phillip Marquis of Warrensburg; grandchildren: Nathan Sperry, Zachary Fasick and Beau Marquis; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her parents; husband; son, Patrick A. Sperry; brother, Lawrence Nolte and sister, Rita Smith preceded her in death.
