Charlotte Caroline Kapper's Obituary
Charlotte Caroline Kapper, 88, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Lincolnshire Memory Care, with her family by her side.
Charlotte was born July 31, 1928, in Decatur to Roy Otis and Stella (Bashford) Weaver, Sr. She married Virgil J. Kapper on April 4, 1948, in Decatur.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Virgil; three sons, Steven Kapper , Joseph Kapper and Daniel (Laura) Kapper all of Decatur; five daughters, Marjorie (Rich) Wessel of Decatur, Sandra (Ronald) Faith of Decatur, Carol (Glen) Yoder of Sullivan, Ellen (David) Zindel of Decatur and Cynthia (Gary) Dye of Stonington; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Kapper of Macon;17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Elizabeth) Weaver of Decatur; and her best friend “sister” Jane Duda of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Martin Kapper; three brothers and nine sisters.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Lincolnshire Memory Care and staff, especially Boo.
Visitation will be from 5p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2016 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home; vigil prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate her life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Holy Family Catholic Church,Very Rev. Joseph M. Molloy,V.F., celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery following the mass. The family requests casual attire for her visitation and mass. Memorials may be directed to Holy Family Catholic Church, Cancer Care Specialists or Alzheimer’s Association, 2309 West White Oaks Drive, Suite E, Springfield, IL 62704.
