Claudia Jackson's Obituary
Claudia P. Adami Jackson of Moweaqua, IL passed away unexpectedly at the age of 68. Her family is deeply saddened by her sudden passing.
Claudia was born on August 31, 1957, in Rome, Italy, to her biological mother, Gabriella Adami. At the age of three, she came to the United States and was adopted by her mother’s sister, Adriana Lovelace, and her husband, Nelson Lovelace, who she lovingly knew as Mom and Dad. She was deeply proud of her Italian heritage and carried that with her into all aspects of her life.
Claudia graduated from Macon High School and went on to study journalism at Millikin University while writing articles for the Decatur Herald & Review. She later found her true calling as a private detective, a career she greatly enjoyed until the time of her retirement.
On March 1, 2007, Claudia married Gary D. Jackson. Together, they shared a love of riding “Buster,” their Harley-Davidson, and cherished the solitude of their country home, affectionately known as the “Batcave.” Though their time together was cut short by his untimely passing, she always said he was her true love. A part of her remained with Gary, and her family finds comfort in knowing they are now reunited.
Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, Adriana and Nelson Lovelace; her biological mother, Gabriella Adami; and her husband, Gary Jackson.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Ervin) Wright; her granddaughter, Shae Wright; her great-granddaughter, Ember; her sister, Cinzia Fontana of Italy; and her brother, Ferrcuccio Fontana of Italy.
Honoring Claudia’s wishes, no formal services will be held. She had a special love for dogs and was a strong advocate for animal rescue. In her memory, donations may be made to an animal rescue organization of your choice. The family encourages celebrating her life in a personal way—by sharing kindness, cherishing time with loved ones, or giving to a cause that brings meaning to you.
