Delores Hilton and her and her family were so kind to me when I was in college. I was the janitor and music minister at the church they attended. Here daughters were in my choir, I am the God Father of one of her grand children. I was invited to their house every Christmas and Thanksgiving and she always had a bag of sealed meals for me at church so I'd have food during the week. She made me all kinds of wonderful clothes which I wish I could fit in now. They were incredible and I still have things they gave me for Christmas: tools, belts buckles and other manly items which I still cherish. I wish I could still fit in those wonderful hand sewn shirts and that handsome black jacket. She was a very devote Catholic with a strong fundamentalist evangelical view but her and her family has always accepted and loved me was I am. I have always seen them as true Christians in the truest sense they live the message of Christ. I have kept in touch with her over the years and recently made a trip from Chicago to visit her. We had a great time visiting. We both shared a love and compassion for cats. She loved her family and grandchildren so much. She had just had a screened in porch installed that she wanted for her and her cat to enjoy the summer air. She was a remarkable mother, friend and a true Christian in a world that at times seem violent and chaotic. She lived kindness and good will toward all and this that knew her will miss her. My deepest condolences to her family, sister, daughters and their families and children.I am certain that Delores's kind heart and good will will live on in all of them as well are her simple down to earth way of engaging in life. I will miss her. Thank you Delores for all those clothes, meals, diners and times at your home with your family as well as your kindness and friendship that left a deep impression in my life when I needed support, a friendly hug and some home cooked meals.
