Donald John Briehler 56 of Decatur died Tuesday May 1, 2007 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Donald John Briehler will be held at 10:30 am Sunday May 20, 2007 in PromiseLand Ministries at Warrensburg, IL. Memorial gifts are suggested to the paralyzed Vets Association.
Donald was born on May 22, 1950 in Woodbury, NJ the son of Donald H. and Marian Angleman Briehler. He met his wife Helen Tammy Gambill in Junior High School both graduated from the same High School. Tammy and Don were married on June 29, 1974 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He served his country proudly in the US Navy as an EM2 with an electronic background his final assignment was aboard a research ship. Don had many accomplishments; he was most proud of his sound work for several churches and singing groups and trained others to carry on. He installed satellators and translators in order for people to hear the gospel by radio thru Bible Broadcasting Network in Charlotte, NC. He helped other Christian networks maintain their broadcast equipment with Crown Broadcast. He kept National weather Service with Independent Technology, Inc. transmitters in top condition in order to give alerts to save lives from various emergencies which gave people time to respond to the threat. He liked to keep people in a positive frame of mind by telling jokes and stories. He was proud of his 33 years with his wonderful wife and being together with his best friend - his wife. He was proud of taking care of both his mother and his wife's mother. He loved the Lord and making CD's of sermons.
He is survived by his Wife Tammy and his mother Marian Briehler both of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his father.
