Dorothy I. Lucas' Obituary
Dorothy I. Lucas, 88, of Decatur, died Friday, November 7, 2008.
Service will be Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at 11:00 am, in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Flaugher officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Friends Creek Cemetery. Donations in her honor may be made to the charity of choice.
Dorothy was born in Yanesville, IL, on February 16, 1920, to Edward and Etna Pea Manning. She married Joseph Lucas on January 2, 1936. They were married for 62 years before he passed away.
Dorothy loved to crochet, and was very talented. She enjoyed bowling in her earlier years.
Dorothy is survived by one son, Edward LucasHelen, of Decatur; two daughters, Virginia Malloy Walter, of Decatur; and Phyllis Parker Charles, of Kingman, AZ; one sister, Mary Mackey, of Portland, OR; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Donald; one great granddaughter; and two brothers, Herbert Manning and Wayne Manning.
