Hi Joe,
Betsy -- still beautiful after all these years. So many good memories from Iowa City. Thanksgiving in the quonset, and nobody knowing how to make gravy. Somebody's wedding and me 6'2", pregnant, and penniless -- Betsy to the rescue with a beautiful handmade maternity dress. Mandy's first birthday party in our little backyard house on Jefferson, with four more babes in their bouncy chairs -- your Kathy, David Morgan, Paul Johnson, and Bernie Link. So many bridge games. God we're old. Anyway, she was a wonderful friend, and I'm so sorry for your loss.

I had the pleasure of knowing Betsy through the Decatur Parkinson’s Group. She was such an ancouragement to me. I moved away several years ago but I have thought of her so many times. If she would drop something, she would show her independence and let you know she could take care of it.

Joe,I was sorry to hear about Betsy. You probably know that I lost Judy a few months ago. Our lives have followed similar paths, from our work at Staley Research, our long marriages, and now the loss of our partner. Betsy and Judy often crossed paths when they were going to the YMCA and Judy enjoyed visiting with her! You are in my prayers as you make this major adjustment. We so enjoyed our dinners with Joe, Betsy and the Mosers. I remember, way back, when Betsy was a member of our cultural arts program at Parson’s school. Teachers signed up to have Betsy in their classrooms to instruct and entertain their students. She was captivating. Always smiling, she will be so missed by her family and friends.

Rest in peace, Betsy. Your bravery and resolve while fighting Parkinson’s was something that left Brenda and me in complete awe. It’s over now, but we will never forget you and Joe, and how enduring your love for your family and each other was.
