Everett E. Nicholas, Jr.'s Obituary
Decatur – Everett E. Nicholas, Jr, born October 2, 1941, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.
He leaves behind four children, James Nicholas (Lily), Kathryn Elenbaas (James), Wesley Nicholas (Wendy), and Susan Phipps (Nicholas), nine grandchildren, and many beloved friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Nikki Jo Nicholas.
Everett practiced law for more than 50 years, and was a founding partner of Robbins, Schwartz, Nicholas, Lifton & Taylor, before retiring in 2015. He was happiest when spending time with family and friends and being pestered by his children and grandchildren. His faith in God was steadfast and strong, and he served as a (very blunt) mentor and advisor to many in both his career and in life. Special thanks to Aunt Pam for her constant support through the end.
Visitation will be at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1360 West Main Street, Decatur, Illinois, on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to God’s Shelter of Love or Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois.
