Fannie Mae Seals' Obituary
Fannie Mae Seals, 81, of Decatur, better known as “Fannie from Kembrooks” or “Fannie’s Grub Club” was called home Friday, July 24, 2009.
Ms. Seals was born October 4, 1927, in Lucy, TN, to Jack Rogers and Sam Ella Seals. Fannie was a member of Greater Northside Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an Usher for many years. She later moved her membership to Ebeneezer Baptist Church under the direction of Rev. Edd Jackson. She was a faithful member until her health started to fail. Fannie came to love her family unconditionally. She had many hobbies and loved to joke.
Fannie leaves many fond memories in the HEARTS of two sons: George A. Seals of CA. and Lethaniel L. Seals of FL; daughter, Dianne Owens-Lewis of CA; sisters: Mary E. Smith of Memphis, TN, Corrine Hayes-Seals of Springfield, Ernestine Brown and Martha M. Seals of Decatur; brother, Henry J. Seals of Decatur; 14 grandchildren including Shalonda Seals-Young and Ameika Seals, 8 great grandchildren; aunt, Charlene Jackson of Memphis, TN; a host of nieces and nephews and a few cousins.
Fannie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Willie and Charlie Seals and sister, Mildred McCoy.
Funeral service will be 11 am, Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Ebeneezer Baptist Church, 240 N. Edward St. Decatur, with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park.
Special thanks to nieces, Rita Currie & Patty Carter who cared for her and nephew, Jackie Hayes, her caregiver until the Lord called his “Honey” Aunt Fannie home.
