Floyd & Dorothy,I have known you both my entire life..as you lived next door to my Grandmother, Zelma Taylor. I remember Floyd was always working in his yard, and it looked beautiful and very well kept.I remember the story of my Father Mike Michl driving through Floyd's Shrub Bushes one time..I guess Floyd was pretty upset..But time heals all wounds, Dad and Floydremained friends.I remember hearing another story when the barn behind my Grandma's house caught fire..My Father was inside sleeping while everyone else was at work..It was Floyd that ran into the house and woke my Dad up. As the story goes..Dad ran out of the house naked with clothes in hand..He got dressed in the back seat of his car..I remember Dad telling how cold his seats were as this was winter time..hahaha So thanks to Floyd, I still have my Father..I will be 43 in November, and I cant remember a time when I parked in your driveway to run to Grandma's…Floyd would peek his head out the door and say hello and that it was OK..Sometimes, Dorothy would just wave and smile..I would like to say Thanks for buying all the Girl Scout Cookies when I was a kid..I knew I could always count on Grandma's "Friends" to buy cookies..Also, Thanks for the special Treats at Halloween..When I was a kid, I couldn't wait to go to Grandma's so she could walk me up and down Monroe St to her Friends for my treats..And I could show off my Halloween outfit..I have alot of Memories with the Garfoots, Doris Brown's Beauty Salon, Juanita Harper and her husband Bud he worked at Sangamo …I remember Monroe St when it was a 2 lane Road and Macon County Hospital was a small building with a tall smoke stack. And Best of all..All of my memories there included all of the Beautiful neighbors my Grandmother had.My Grandmother recently moved to assisted living..I often drive by where her house once stood and think of fond memories. So I will close by saying..Thanks Floyd..You are part of my childhood memories..
