Gladys C. Burrows' Obituary
Gladys C. “Connie” Burrows was surrounded by her family and friends when she passed away in her home on October 26, 2010, the third anniversary of her husband’s death.
Connie was born April 12, 1923, in Americus, KS, the daughter of Conon S. and Gladys Irene Troxell Hermanek. She was married 66 years to her high school sweetheart, James H. Burrows, who preceded her in death on October 26, 2007.
A retired Sears employee, Connie devoted her life and gave her unconditional love to her entire family and close friends. Connie’s nurturing, caring touch, kindness, clever wit, good humor and exceptional cooking skills kept her family and friends eager for her company. She had a great sense of adventure and enjoyed many travels with Jim. She looked forward to family celebrations, holiday gatherings, going for drives, eating out at many different restaurants and spending quiet times with her cats.
In addition to her husband, Connie was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Jeanette Brennan and son, Jimmy Joe Burrows.
Surviving are her children: Debby Wilcox of Decatur, and Becky husband, Ted Kaatmann of St. Charles, MO; daughter-in-law, Nancy Burrows of Lakewood, CO, and son-in-law, Terry Brennen of Decatur. Connie is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 30, 2010 from 11 am until the funeral service at 12 pm in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to DMH Hospice.
