Gregory J. Brinkoetter, 58, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011 in St. Louis University Hospital
Gregory was born on February 23, 1953 in Decatur the son of William A. and Mary J. Aungst Brinkoetter. He worked as a pipefitter and was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #65. He was also a member of Rev. Jeremiah Murphy Assembly #211 and Knights of Columbus Council #577.
Surviving are his fiancée, Kathleen Ekstrom and her children Kristy Webber of Bloomington; Matthew Ekstrom Jenny and children of St. Jacob. Also surviving are his brothers, Stephen Brinkoetter Darbe of Decatur; William J. Brinkoetter Jill of Champaign; sisters, Lisa Ross Mark of Chatham; Jo Ellen West Thomas of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Liturgy will be 11:00am Tuesday, March 8, 2011 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Molloy presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Decatur. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donor Network.
