To the family of Herbert Hedges please accept my sincere condolence. Although IÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?â??ââ??¬Ã?â??ââ??¢ve never met Mr. Hedges, IÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?â??ââ??¬Ã?â??ââ??¢m very grateful for at least two of his high achievements. At a time when much of the world was tired of military service, IÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?â??ââ??¬Ã?â??ââ??¢m grateful he answered the ArmyÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?â??ââ??¬Ã?â??ââ??¢s call and reminded us that Freedom is not free. IÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?â??ââ??¬Ã?â??ââ??¢m also grateful he passed that sense of duty on to his granddaughter, Elizabeth Rooney. I have the pleasure to work with TSgt Rooney and as she often does to all who work with her, I too am inspired by her sense of duty and willingness to answer her nationÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?â??ââ??¬Ã?â??ââ??¢s call. We in the Air Force are faithful to a proud heritage; it is obvious that Liz is faithful to two proud heritages. With much sympathy,Jeff Wilmoth Ramstein Air Base, Germany
