My father, Leon Lambert and Jack's dad, Kenneth Coventry drove a bus at the Decatur City Lines for about 15 years together until my dad left Decatur City Lines for different and better paying job. Jack and I became friends as young boys and we continued to be friends, both graduating from Decatur High School in 1957. I lost track of Jack over the years after both my parents passed away but one of my closest friends, Jim Douglas remained in touch with Jack until he passed. Shirley Kistler, the wife of another DHS class of 57 and long time friend of mine alerted many of us to the passing of Jack Coventry. I must say after practicing law for the last 44 years that I had never forgotten Jack and the friendship we had over the years. I was saddened by his passing and I am very gratefully to Jim Douglas who kept me apprised most recently of Jack's struggle in his last days and for Shirley's letting many of us know of Jack's passing.I enclose a small memorial to be used in lieu of flowers to be used at the direction of his Jack's wife, Randi as she may choose. I would appreciate it if you would pass this memorial and my memory comments on to Mrs. Randi Coventry.Jerry L. Lambert, Esq.716 Park Drive, Flossmoor, IL. 60422.Email address: [email protected].
