Kay,I want to thank you and Father Jeff Grant for the gift of a wonderful funeral Saturday. The church is so beautiful and bright now after renovations, the service, message, and music were so well done, and the friends of Jim did such a great job of sharing some of the joy that he gave to them, with us. I trust they gave you copies of their comments. They were so touching, and very humorous. Lovington, IL US
To Jim's Family and Friends,It was a pleasure to work with a real gentleman at the Health Dept..Jim was always friendly and available to all. You are in our prayers, Steve and Barb Brooks Decatur, IL US
To Jim's Family: I remember where you sat together when you could at Saint James. Although I did not know your family well, I sensed your closeness to family and friends. It helps to believe that "life has changed but not ended". You are in my best prayers. Sister Chaminade, Parish Nurse at Saint James Decatur, IL USA
Dear Kay,May God provide you, your aunts, and your friends with great comfort during this time of grief. I have many stories about Jim, from the time he was in 2nd grade at St. James.Ã?Æ?ââ?¬Å¡Ã?â??Ã? Jim was among the neatest of the class.Ã?Æ?ââ?¬Å¡Ã?â??Ã? In his dress and in the manner in which he kept his books and belongings, I was simply asounded by his tidiness.Ã?Æ?ââ?¬Å¡Ã?â??Ã? And he neither fought nor spoke an unkind word, but would often have the last row of Mrs. Jenkins 4th grade class red from suppressd laughter.Ã?Æ?ââ?¬Å¡Ã?â??Ã? Phil Utterback was especially suseptible and Jim was unmerciful with his quaint but pointed humor.Mike Daly laments to this day how Jim stole the show in the senior class play with just a few lines done with infectous humor, while Mike memorized pages of monologue that was, unfortunately, serious. I also remember Jim's hard and thankless work as the football and basketball team trainer and the track team's half miler. And in the midst of all the rough and aggressive talk, Jim never spoke an unkind word to or about anyone.I only regret that I never said these things to him as well as to you.May God bless you, sister.Al Lovington, IL US
To the family and friends of Jim:My deepest sympathies and condolences on the passing of Jim, a fellow classmate at St. Teresa and Lewis College.Respectfully,Jeff , IN US
Dear Kay and Family:Jean and I are sorry for your loss. Jim was a good friend and we will sorely miss him.I first met him at Illinois Power, and later we became reacquainted when he moved back to Decatur after working with Dynegy in Houston.Jim lent his creative and communication talents in a number of ways. He was a part of our team during elections and throughout the year. Jim was truly gifted in his profession, and I am honored that he shared his gift with me for the benefit of the people of central Illinois.Rep. Bob Flider Mt. Zion, IL US
Kay, I'm so sorry to hear about Jim. I truly know how you feel after losing Stan almost three years ago. I know you two were always close and I have many fond memories of growing up next door. Jim was one of the most creative people that I have ever known. I didn't really recognize how creative he was until I became a teacher. It was rare to see someone with that spark. He always had an idea for a show, fair,or play, etc. in the summer. I remember something involving the Flintstones… I also remember hearing rousing renditions of Gary, Indiana from Music Man drifting across from his room to our dormer upstairs. You are in my thoughts and prayers.Sincerely,Yvonne GloverEllis Decatur, IL US
