Joan Louise Brunner's Obituary
Decatur- Joan Louise Brunner, 77, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 in her home.
Joan was born on November 1, 1936 in Lincoln, IL the daughter of Robert E. and Louise E. (Heger) Luckenbill. She was a retired dispatcher from Illinois Power, volunteer for the Red Cross and the blood bank, and owned an antique business. She was a lifetime member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. She also enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s school and sporting events. She married Ronald Brunner on February 28, 1959 in Decatur.
Surviving are her husband, Ron; sons, Jon Brunner of Decatur; Richard Brunner of Decatur; daughter, Bridget Deckinga (Ron) of Homer Glen; brothers, Bob Luckenbill of Huntsville, AL; Larry Luckenbill (Happy) of Decatur; Fred Luckenbill (Nancy) of Rock Island; and six grandchildren: Allison, Clay, Mike, Jackson, Rylee, and Jordan.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to thank Phyllis Howley and DMH hospice especially Angie and Tina for all their care of Joan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Friday, January 31, 2014 in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Rick Weltin as Celebrant. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Thursday in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with a Vigil Prayer service at 4:30 PM. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Teresa Catholic High School or the Red Cross.
