Joan C. "Joni" Sadorus' Obituary
Joan C. “Joni” Sadorus, 77, of Decatur passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in McKinley Court.
Joni was born March 10, 1937 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Carl and Rachel (Fraiser) Quintenz. Joni was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She was very artistic and had interests in interior design. She enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her family and was always eager to gather them together for an occasion. She attended St. Teresa High School in Decatur until 1955. She married George Sadorus on February 19, 1955 at St. James Catholic Church in Decatur. They shared 60 wonderful years together.
Joni, along with her husband, George, operated George St. Paul Studios for many years, serving Decatur and the surrounding community specializing in wedding photography. She enjoyed the business where she practiced her favorite skill as an extraordinary people person with heartfelt enthusiasm.
Joni leaves behind her husband, George; sons, Lowell “Duffy” (Teresa) Sadorus of Mt. Zion, IL; Mark (Joyce) Sadorus of Decatur; Todd (Elayna) Sadorus of Decatur; daughter, Dana (Steve) Kissack of Milford, IL; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many life-long friends from the community.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Carl Quintenz.
Mass of the Christian Burial to celebrate Joni’s life will Wednesday at St. Patrick Church, 11:00 AM.
Visitation will be at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Joni may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation.
