Kari Anne Goodner's Obituary
Kari Anne Goodner, 41, of West Frankfort, went to dance with the Lord early on the 9th of April 2023. Kari was born on the 1st of July 1981 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital in Mattoon, the only daughter of Randall Wood and Diane Madeker-Wood. After Kari graduated from St. Teresa High School in 1999, she went on to study at Quincy University and later Parkland College. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom and personal caregiver, Kari worked at Suzi Davis Travel Agency and loved her job and customers.
In 2000, Kari met her adoring husband Jason Goodner in Decatur, and they were married the 21st of April 2001. Kari and Jason went on to have five children; Kolby, Addison, Jaron, and twins Jordan and Lynzi. She was an amazing mom who would stop at nothing to give her children the world.
Kari enjoyed going to lunch with her dad Randy, playing cards with Jason watching her children succeed in sports, baking, true crime documentaries, naps, air conditioning, and The Young and the Restless. She knew no stranger and found great worth in everyone.
Kari was preceded in death by her grandmother, Betty Watts. She is survived by her husband Jason, children Kolby, Addi, Jaron, Jordan, and Lynzi, father Randy Wood, mother Diane Bertsche, grandmother Karin O’Brien Fisher, in-laws Terry(Cathy) Goodner, and aunts Cathleen(Lee) Barringer and Christine(Mark) Cramblett.
Services will be held the 15th of April at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home, 2801 N. Monroe St. Decatur, IL. Visitation is from 1-3 P.M. and service to follow at 3, officiated by Pastor Miles Clark. Keeping with her spirit, the family requests you wear cheetah print or your favorite bright color.
