Sorry for your loss Pat, your dad had a long, wonderful life, and I know you will miss him. Valrico, FL US
Whenever my brothers and I arrived for a visit to Decatur, we would beg Uncle King for movie passes to the Avon Theater. On one or two occasions,he gave us passes to the Avon. After the chewing tobacco incident, he would only give us passes to the Rogers Theater. I think he considered us to be a threat to his livelyhood. We all loved Uncle King's political views. He aggressively voiced his opinions in a Jimmy Stewrt style that we all enjoyed to hear. I will always cherish the memories of my youth in Decatur. Uncle King and Maggie will always play a cherished role in those memories. South Russell, OH US
Uncle King was a great guy. I'll always remember the visits to Grandmas in Decatur when all of us kids were scattered about the house and the adults were packed into the kitchen. They spent hours visiting in there. I remember the loud frequent laughter coming from the kitchen while Uncle King and my Dad and Uncle Joe argued about politics and who knows what else. I enjoyed over the past few years discussing western fiction and Jan's cooking when he and Aunt Maggie, Joe and Patty would visit with us in Mass. I'll miss him alot and plan to toast him at Eskers this spring when I come out to visit. I imagine now Uncle King and my Dad are probably arguing once again in heaven right about now. Good bye Uncle King. Poquoson, VA US
