It seems like another lifetime since I have spoken with Larry. I can fondly remember many fun and interesting times we had growing up together. Larry would come to our family store Carl's Market and spend the afternoon talking with my dad. I always had a protector within Larry as well as a freind. I can't remember a time when I wasn't an adopted member of the Johnson family. Yvonda & Tanya are like sisters to me and Larry was my ornery little brother. I remember afternoons on my grandma's porch, going swimming, hanging out at the park. As we grew up and got on with our own lives I very rarely got to see Larry, but I know that if I had needed him, needed help, he would have done anything for me. I will always remember his laugh and his ability to come up with the perfect sarcastic comment for any occasion.I am so sorry this happened and my love and sympathy are with his family during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Johnson family… I`m 36 yrs old and in those 36 yrs I`ve made a lot of friends but none like Larry. I heard that a person can count their best friends on one hand and your parents are two of them. Larry was one of my best friends. I remember Larry from many years ago when he and my older brother Michael were very good friends. I didn't know him long, but to this day most of the great stories I tell my friends about my time in Decatur as a child involve Larry, my brother, and the trouble they could get into.
