Laura Brosamer's Obituary
Decatur - Laura Brosamer, 61, of Decatur, IL died Monday November 29, 2021, surrounded by family after a valiant fight with breast cancer.
She was born May 31, 1960, to Lowell and Vivian (Shofner) Brosamer in Alton, IL. A member of Ss. James and Patrick Parish, Laura worked for St. Mary’s Hospital for 36 years as the librarian of their medical library. She also served as the librarian at St. Teresa High School for 17 years. Laura married Chris Senger on November 18, 1989, in Decatur.
Laura will be remembered for her unconditional love as a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. As a lifelong librarian, she loved reading, sharing a good book, and spreading knowledge to all around her. She enjoyed Brosamer family vacations, puzzles, board games and playing cards, crafting, taking walks, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her family will remember her for her infectious laugh, large smile, family trivia games, quick wit, and love of crafts.
She is survived by her husband Christopher Senger; three children Jessica (Aaron) Randolph of St. Louis, Alexander Senger of Washington DC, and Katie Brosamer-Senger (Ben Baechle) of St. Charles, MO; two grandchildren, Cora and Vivienne Randolph; father, Lowell Brosamer; siblings Melissa (Leonard Leach) Brosamer, Mary (Sean) Keohane, Peter (Dawn) Brosamer, Elizabeth (Ariel) Valdes, Jane (Mark) Morthland, and Sarah Brosamer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be 11 am, Saturday, December 4, 2021, at St. Patrick Catholic Church; visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at the church. Private family burial will take place at a later date in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Teresa High School, 2710 N Water Street, Decatur, IL 62526.
CDC protocol will be followed, masks are required.
