Dear Kay and Jim,While I share your loss, I also celebrate with you the long and "good" life your dad was blest to enjoy. No one could ask for more faithful children than the two of you. No doubt your dad longed to be with your mom. I'm guessing the conversation he had with her the other evening was quite typical and probably one among many such conversations. She must have urged him to cross over. I'm guessing that for the first time in a long time he heard the invitation loud and clear. I know there are tears and that there will be a period of emptiness and then a time when you will begin to build new lives for yourselves. Mr. Schimanski was my next door neighbor for years and growing up next to him and his family will be something that I will fondly remember for the rest of my life.He and the rest of his family were the best neighbors that a person could ask for.
