Leon Vemmer…………A kind ole soul I will always remember with a smile,Always cherishing the time we could visit for awhile. One of the few WWII veterans with the days of infamy etched in his mind,He would tell about his navy days I never heard the same story twice. He continued to serve the families of Veterans when he was back here,As a VFW member helping his brothers in arms year after year.Born to Henry and Victoria a son of their own,He stayed by their side only one time to roam.I know when he met my Aunt Mary she became the apple of his eye,As he would tell you know whatever she wants it I'm gonna try.Starting with two lovely girls very close together their family did start,Very few times you saw them alone they were very rarely apart. It happened one day no doubt a suprizeWhen daughter number three did arrive.Their family was not quite over yet one more to appear,The son that they longed for was born in a couple more years.Dedicated to work on building a home for their family members,Inviting friends and families to many a dinner.I remember the time when he thought the kids should have something grand,He made grasshopper drinks and played the accordion for us with both of his hands. His circle of life as it is now is quite large and continues to grow,Grandchildren and great grandchildren have helped make it so.Thunderbirds are creatures with supernatural powers and strength,No doubt exactly what he drives through the clouds and gives us a wink.I never though this day would happen,I hope he is smiling with a great big Manhattan.Loved and missed now and alwaysMy beloved Uncle Leon.
He is the main reason I know anything about camping! Thoughts and prayers to you Todd and your family. I hope you find comfort in the great memories you have. Love Joe Hullinger
