Lorn Dale Groves' Obituary
Decatur – Lorn Dale Groves, 85, of Dalton City, passed from this life Monday, January 1, 2018, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Dale as born October 25, 1932, in Decatur, the son of Marion “Jess” and Martha (Croy) Groves. He was a retired journeyman sheet metal worker and member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #218. Dale married Gloriajean Erpelding November 22, 1950, in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL.
Dale is survived by his wife, Gloria; 5 children: Gloria (Ray) Barber, Lorn (Marsha) Groves, Dalinda (Bradley) Gustafson, Brenda (David) Reed and Angela (Michael) Scarlett; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 5 brothers.
Services to celebrate his life will be 11 am, Wednesday, January 10, 2018, in the Star of Hope Chapel at Graceland Cemetery; visitation will be one hour before the service in the Star of Hope Chapel. Entombment will take place in the Star of Hope Mausoleum at Graceland Cemetery.
