To Mary, Lisa, Jan and Family, I’m very sorry for your loss. Lum was a good man, always the first to help others. He always made me feel at home. I will miss his laughter and participation in the silliness that often ensued. I will miss him with fond memories.
Not to often you run into people like Lum. We lived just a couple of blocks from the Tipsword family on 29th street. Lum’s Dad was our preacher at 2nd Church Of God. I went to school at Brush College #2 and Lakeview. Altho Lum was from the LHS Class of 1950 (I graduated in 1953) I remember watching him play basketball. My sister Mary (Cooke) Toth was a close friend to Frances and Maxine. I think the whole Tipsword family was taught to do all things right. They were a highly respected family in our neighborhood. It seemed Lum never ran out of smiles, regardless of what was going on. He was an extra-special guy and I consider it an asset to have had him as a 80+ year old friend. May he rest in peace. He deserves nothing less.
To Mary, Jan, Lisa, and families, my most sincere sympathy in the loss of your husband, and Dad. Although I haven’t actually seen Lum for many, many years, I am glad to have had the chance to speak with him on the phone a couple of years ago. And anyone would know just how much he loved each of you by simply reading his posts on Facebook, and seeing the love in all pictures. God bless you all; Lum will be sorely missed.
Mary and family I feel your loss. I have so many memories over the years. The time God sent me out to pray for Sheila. I know he kept his word. Sheila will be wrlcoming him home.
