Paul E. Smith's Obituary
Paul E. Smith passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy “Dottie” Smith; his parents, Ora and Mont Smith; and his sister, Sue Watts.
Paul is survived by his sons, David Smith (Julie), Craig Smith (Michelle), and his bonus son, Brad Gillmar (Teri); his grandchildren, Stephanie Smith-Schellhorn (Eric), Tyler Smith, Lindsay Siefman (Adam), Brenna Smith (Dalton McGee), and Connor Haaksmith (Hannah); his great-grandchildren, Meade Edgecombe, Cole Siefman, Karli Siefman, and Harper Haaksmith; and his sister, Patty.
Paul married the love of his life, Dorothy “Dottie” Smith, on October 24, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960, where he met Dottie. He retired from Firestone in 2000 after more than 35 years of service.
Known as a sweet and kind man, Paul always made sure everyone around him was taken care of. He gave the best advice, told the best stories and especially loved sharing memories of the many adventures involving his sons and their dear friend Brad. Paul treasured time spent attending the activities of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoyed reading (particularly natural health and healing literature) and loved listening to big band and jazz music. He was known for quietly helping others whenever he could.
Paul will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his generosity, steadiness and the deep love he had for his family.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am on December 30, 2025. A Funeral Service for Paul will follow at 11:00am on December 30, 2025. Interment at Graceland Cemetery will follow the Funeral Service.
