Sorry to hear about Bob's passing. I worked with Bob at Habitat for many years. He was very devoted and loyal worker. Besides work we had time for coffee and goodies. I remember a lot of Bob's comments. He will be missed by many. My wife Louise and Imoved to Minnesota two and a half years ago so it's been a long time since I saw Bob.Jesse Parsons

Bob has a very good heart! He talked to me about my father and gave me a picture I had never seen before,he explained that my maiden name Manks was originally Minks until his family member had changed his name and adopted my father,anyway Bob Minks was very nice and informative, Bob came to Lincoln Manor to visit with the residents. I worked there.We talked of getting together and reminiscing well I would have been doing more listening, which I would have enjoyed learning more about my father,and other things thru him,but we lost touch after I left there, He was a wonderful man !!! I regret us not getting together and visiting and only visiting on the go. I am glad I got to meet him though he showed such kindness to the residents not only the ones he came to visit but everyone he came in contact with! What a warm and funny man Uncle Bob was. He loved his family and was just a quality person. He probably has everyone laughing right now in heaven. So sorry for his loss on this Earth but and Angel is gained.
I so enjoyed meeting and spending time with Bob. I knew he was a very amazing man for the little bit of time we got to spend with him. Our families got to have a very nice dinner together. He's probably in heaven telling stories to all the angels. Thinking of his sweet wife and family and praying for all of you.

when we were children we used to spend summers up there in Decatur while the other half of the family went to southern Illinois.. we stayed about a month over the summer and we had lots of fun being kids. I miss those days.. my favorite spots were uncle bobs house, uncle glens house in south shores, and aunt mary annes place on the northwest side of town.. we virtually spend hours putting miles on thebikes when we got old enough to roam the town.. we rode to the many parks that were closeby and enjoyed ourselves as we did not do this at home.. when we got older we started working up there doing the detassling of corn.. I developed a evere infection of hay fever and could only work about a half a day as I could not breathe or see when my eyes swelled shut about mid-morning.. one of the things about uncle bob was his keen intelligence.. he was smart.. like booksmart.. Catherine and uncle bob were always ones to ask questions about virtually anything while growing up and being there.. I was maybe a bit more inquisitive than the rest.. but it seemed that they both knew about stuff to the point that they seemed like walking encyclopedias.. I learned to appreciate that in both bob and Catherine.. then when we came to visit while my wife sue was alive.. uncle bob extended wonderful hospitality to us and drove us around to the many sites he was aware of. to include the million dollar church'' somewhere I have the video of that trip and maybe can run copies of it off for the family.. like so many of the family who have gone before him, uncle bob is now in a special place where he will be with family once again.. he will be missed.. but he will also be watching from above.. all you have to do is look up.. and remember.. he will hear you.. love you Bob.. enjoy heaven.. you deserve it.. and God bless you and the rest of the family you leave behind..
