Roger and Cheryl made several trips to St Charles to help prepare for Alex and Matt’s rehearsal dinner including helping to cut up two massive trees that had fallen into the party area!!!

To mirror Cheryl’s words to us, we are so blessed to have Matt in our lives because he brought Roger & Cheryl with him! Ruth and I have loved how we have become friends (and family) through Alex & Matt’s love for each other.

* sharing stories & pizza at Quattro’s at SIUC or at a campground near Bloomington or at the dining room table in Decatur or while playing UNO in Memphis
* working together to prepare for Alex & Matt’s rehearsal dinner costume party and wedding.
* touring around Memphis on bikes for Matt’s birthday or walking around Chicago at Christmas time with the newlyweds
* hiking together just the four of us near Peoria or watching The Princess Bride
* helping move children across the country or surprising Roger & Cheryl by helping bring Three Sons and a Dad together again for “help” with the move to Decatur
To Matt & Alex, Cheryl, Drew & Emily, Joe, Clifton, Anna, and all of the Frey family. We love you and are oh so grateful and oh so heartbroken. Roger was the salt of the earth.

It is was an honor to know this man not only a steward of Christ, but as a faithful husband, and loving father. I am overflowed with memories weather its hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, having sit outs, playing 500 over the street lamp on palm court , having an extra voice say “good swim Cec” during a dolphins swim meet. He always had a kind word or joke to tell. I have known you my whole life and you have always been a father figure to me. You were there when I was a baby, tracked countless hours poolside, witnessed graduations, getting married, and becoming a mom myself. You have shown by your example the values I have now found in my husband and traits I will teach my son as he grows up. You are one of a kind and truly missed here on earth. May your heart be at peace with eternity, and live on to all the souls you’ve touched. Love you Mr. Roger.
