Hello Joe and Children:Please accept my sincere sympathy and that of my children at this difficult time for you. God has welcomed a beautiful, warm caring wife and mother with Him and she is now at peace in His loving embrace.I have always admired Rose for her soft, quiet way of getting the job done. She was a wonderful partner at the St Thomas/OLOL Preschool and I will treasure those memories. She wore many hats and juggled many schedules with what seemed to be ease, certainly with the grace that was Rose. I will always remember her for her kind words and a sweet smile. She will be missed. Even though I have not lived in Decatur for nearly a decade, I remember Rose. I used to tell her she was well-named as her hair seemed the color of a rose to me.She was a great co-leader and friend; we worked in La Leche together. My condolences to Joe, Elizabeth, Katherine, and Kevin…and to her grandchildren. Aurora, IL US

Rose was a wonderful and caring friend and a delight to work with. I remember her wonderful smile and how happy she was to "show off" the family photos from the Disney World trip. She was so proud of her family, they meant the world to her. She will be missed greatly. Please accept my deepest sympathies. Decatur, IL US

Joe, I worked at the law office with Rose. She was the sweetest woman on Earth. When my husband was diagnosed with cancer and then I was in the hospital with Pneumonia, she donated to me some of her vacation days to help me, since we had no money coming in. That was sweet little Rose. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this great loss of such a special lady. Sincerely,Valerie Pressley Johnston City, IL US
Our Lady of Lourdes Church has lost a dear friend. Rose will be deeply missed by so many of us touched by her life. Rose was one of the first people to welcome me into the Catholic faith. Her sweet, gentle spirit serving in Bible Studies, gift shop, Our Lady of Lourdes School, and countless other places, left a great impression on me. I prayed so hard for her healing, but I trust God in His plans for us. Her death came at a time where I was stressing about many things…and again Rose's calming spirit told me to slow down and enjoy life. I whispered to her, "Thank you Rose, for reminding me to stop and smell the roses." I will continue to pray for her family and my sincere sympathy goes out to Joe and her children. Love, Ronda Smith Decatur, IL US
