Rosalia Marie “Rose” Kerns, 57, of Decatur, died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at her home with her family at her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Rose was born September 19, 1950, in Chicago, the daughter of Ronald N. and Ma Read Obituary
Rose was a wonderful and caring friend and a delight to work with. I remember her wonderful smile and how happy she was to "show off" the family photos from the Disney World trip. She was so proud of her family, they meant the world to her. She will be missed greatly. Please accept my deepest sympathies. Decatur, IL US

Even though I have not lived in Decatur for nearly a decade, I remember Rose. I used to tell her she was well-named as her hair seemed the color of a rose to me.She was a great co-leader and friend; we worked in La Leche together. Joe, I worked at the law office with Rose. She was the sweetest woman on Earth. When my husband was diagnosed with cancer and then I was in the hospital with Pneumonia, she donated to me some of her vacation days to help me, since we had no money coming in.
